    Sheltr has aggregated a series of designs developed by innovators across the manufacturing industry, each responding to a specific need of healthcare professionals.

    While some are only prototypical and others are approved for professional use, all are downloadable through our website and printable using the proper materials.

    As with any 3D-printed object, however, the equipment must be post-processed, cleaned, and properly sealed in order to be used safely. For all 3D-printing contributors, it is crucial to take the proper measures to guarantee self-protection, which are necessary to contribute to the safety of eventual users of the printed products.

    Face Shields

    Developed by PrusaPrinters, this face shield design has been verified by the Czech Ministry of Health and has been produced and used in various healthcare institutions, including hospitals, across the world. The design is remixable and can be downloaded with proper printing instructions.

    Protective Masks

    As hospitals and the general population require protective masks amidst an insufficient supply, Copper3D proposes a reusable, customizable mask design exploiting the antiviral properties of copper to respond to globals needs. Intended as a last resort for the general population to alleviate the supply of PPEs and N95-grade equipment to healthcare professionals, this mask uses a modular filtration system and active materials.

    Proof of Concept

    Medical ventilators have become central in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. As ICUs worldwide scramble to obtain a sufficient number of units, Anemoi has developed an easy-to-build protoype. Although it is not yet ready for use in medical facilities, the design is intended to be sufficiently simple for swift and affordable mass production to satisfy the needs of healthcare professionals, upon finalization of the improved model.

    Preparing for tomorrow's low-touch world is a first step towards applying the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. Designing preventative appliances, Materialise developed a series of hands-free door openers that can easily be mounted on existing handles. In addition to sharing this design, Sheltr is also working towards developing more tools tailored for tomorrow’s world.

    Sheltr currently operates in Montreal, Quebec, with prospective involvement in Toronto, Ontario and eventually New York City. Our team collects equipment produced by contributors and delivers the supply to drop-off points across the Montreal region.

    With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting all nations, everyone’s involvement matters, regardless of geographical location.
